The Role:
Finance Officer role requirements and expectations are 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Working within Department of Primary Industries, the successful candidate will be part of the Finance and Procurement Team that provides financial and procurement advice and assistance to the Agriculture business group.

As part of this opportunity, the successful candidate will be required to perform the following:
• Support the Team Leader and Senior Finance Officers in the preparation of monthly financial reporting for Agriculture business groups.
• Undertake financial investigation and variance analysis including rectification of issues including journals and other corrective actions
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable including invoice payments and tracking, vendor maintenance, purchase order creations and raising of invoices (revenue).
• Communicate with stakeholders of all levels (including leadership) to maintain and build relationships.
• Assist with procurement activities in line with DPI procurement policies and procedures.
• Provide advice, support to stakeholders in relation to DPI financial processes and procedures and the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM).

Preferred requirements for this role:
• Previous government experience (specifically in the financial management field)
• Knowledge of basic accounting including accrual accounting
• SAP experience
• High level knowledge of Microsoft Office package (specifically Excel)
• Location Nambour OR Gympie

Term of Engagement:
The term of contract engagement the department is currently seeking is 6 months .
